Liverpool Cultural Education Partnership

Liverpool established its ‘Local Cultural Education Partnership’ (LCEP) in March 2016, in response to the Arts Council England’s Cultural Education Challenge.

The Arts Council launched the challenge in a bid to make sure that more children and young people can:

  • create, compose, and perform;
  • visit, experience and participate in extraordinary work;
  • know more, understand more, and review the experiences they’ve had.

The Cultural Education Challenge asks art and cultural organisations, educational institutions and local authorities to join up and think differently about how we all work together to give every child and young person these opportunities. You can learn more about local cultural education partnerships across the North West on the Curious Minds website.

Staff wellbeing and CPD sessions are also available. The Philosophy Roadshow is an engaging, interactive programme that brings philosophical enquiry into schools through thought-provoking workshops designed to inspire curiosity, confidence and meaningful dialogue. Using carefully selected stories, images, objects and real-world questions, pupils are encouraged to think critically, listen respectfully to others and explore different perspectives in a safe and inclusive environment. Every session is accessible to all learners and develops essential skills including communication, reasoning, creativity, collaboration and emotional literacy.

Alongside inspiring young people, the Roadshow supports teachers by modelling high-quality facilitation techniques that can be embedded into everyday classroom practice. The approach promotes pupil voice, builds confidence in discussing complex issues and contributes to a positive learning culture where every child feels heard, valued and able to participate. The workshops align with curriculum priorities while also supporting personal development, wellbeing and the development of lifelong thinking skills.
