Teacher or professional working with young people

Welcome to Culturepool, a website for teachers, school staff and professionals working with young people. Culturepool is a resource to help you find arts and cultural education activity and opportunities. It aims to make it easier for you to take advantage of exciting local offers from Liverpool City Region’s diverse arts and cultural sector, so you can give pupils the chance to experience these.

The Ofsted framework specifically refers to the importance of ‘cultural capital’. Art and culture helps bring the curriculum to life, making it broad, rich, well-balanced and locally relevant. It can focus learning on the real world, having an impact on quality of education, pupils’ character, resilience, behaviours and attitudes, personal development and leadership skills.

You may be interested to know that the following 14 organisations take part in the LCEP safeguarding programme: 20 Stories High, Bluecoat, Collective Encounters, DaDaFest, Liverpool Philharmonic, National Museums Liverpool, Open Eye Gallery, The Reader, Unity Theatre, Liverpool Tate, Everyman & Playhouse, Merseyside Dance Initiative, Movema and Liverpool Biennial. This means they have access to a regularly updated handbook and take part in ongoing training and surgeries to improve knowledge and share practice about safeguarding all, especially vulnerable, children and young people.

Have fun looking for opportunities and we welcome feedback and comments!

If you would like to upload your own community or arts and cultural celebration events, please do so via the offer form

You can also find a broader perspective of cultural education offers across the North West on the Curious Minds Culture Hubs website.
