End date:

This event has now ended.

Year of the Rat begins on the 25th January 2020. Pagoda Arts have a series of performances to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We also offer various Chinese cultural workshops for schools such as music, dance and arts and crafts. For example:

Paper folding workshop

Participants will learn to fold a mouse with Chinese Lucky money envelopes to celebrate the Year of the Rat.

Chinese waist drumming workshop

The waist drumming is widely used in Northern China during celebrations. Drummers play different rhythmic patterns while dancing along during marches.

We offer other workshops such as language, calligraphy or local Chinese history. Please get in touch for further information/booking.
