The Storybarn at Calderstones Park

Start date:

Created by The Reader, a national charity that aims to bring people together and books to life, The Storybarn is a unique children’s story centre in Liverpool’s Calderstones Park.

In this space, filled with hundreds of books to read and exciting objects, our warm and wonderful Storyhunters will welcome you and your class into their home. Imaginations will be sparked through reading aloud and book talk via our model of Shared Reading, encouraging discussion and kind listening. We also story-build together, collaborating with the children to create their own wonderful narratives inspired by the hot air balloon, giant robot and other unusual objects in their surroundings or by anything that their minds create. Pupils will also enjoy linked creative crafting and have plenty of time in the animated Storybarn space for imaginative play.
