Shakespeare Schools Festival – Autumn Term of 2020
Shakespeare Schools Foundation (SSF) runs the world’s largest youth drama festival. It offers a fantastic creative opportunity to more than 20,000 school students aged between 8-18 years old each year.
Your cast of up to 35 students would become a theatre company, rehearsing an abridged Shakespeare play that they would perform at a professional theatre in autumn 2020. The annual festival is fully inclusive and non-competitive and builds invaluable skills which last a lifetime. We have performance nights at many theatres across the North West of England, including at the Capstone Theatre in Liverpool, Floral Pavilion in the Wirral and at Knowsley Leisure Centre and Culture Park.
After taking part in our 2018 Festival, 97% of teachers said that their students’ teamwork improved and 96% said that their students were more resilient. Students’ engagement in school and attainment across all subject areas showed a marked improvement. We know that our ambitious project has a transformative impact on students, giving them the confidence to succeed in whatever future challenges they may face.
