On their own – Britain’s child migrants resource

This teachers’ resource was specially written to link to the exhibition, ‘On their own – Britain’s child migrants’. The Merseyside Maritime Museum hosted this in 2015 to explore the experiences of children over the course of 100 years who were forcibly migrated to different areas of the Commonwealth.

The resource includes:

  • very clear lesson plans to aid children’s understanding of the issues raised;
  • links to the Britain’s child migrants website where more detailed research can be undertaken;
  • templates to aid in the tasks outlined in the lesson plans.
