Katumba online/in-person Brazilian Drumming Workshops

Alongside an exciting performance programme, Katumba provide one-off drumming workshops and
educational projects to raise the aspirations and ambitions of young people, adults and educators around the country. Our diverse team of teachers and professional musicians are highly skilled and have led activities in schools, community centres and many other organisations across the UK and worldwide.

Not only are our drumming classes energetic and fun, but also offer a multi-cultural experience full
of cross-curricular learning. Languages, geography, maths and science are just some of the subjects
our qualified and experienced facilitators delve into, topped off with a huge amount of exhilarating
drumming!

While most of our workshops are based around percussion, we also teach dance. Groups learn
about Brazilian and African rhythm and movement, and combine their new skills to create a fantastic
final performance! Through this shared experience, outcomes include teamwork, listening,
laughter, empathy, solidarity and a wealth of achievement for everyone involved.
