ClapperboardUK – BFI Film Academy – 2019/2020

ClapperboardUK is delighted to announce that applications are now open to 16-19 year olds for this year’s BFI Merseyside Academy. Last year’s participants did really well with seventeen young people gaining a National Certificate of Further Education in preparing for the film and TV industry.  Some have been accepted on a week’s BFI residential course in Edinburgh with all expenses paid and some have gained work experience at Lime Pictures and were all invited to apply for a paid internship.

We have only 20 places to offer and welcome applications from young people from socially and economically deprived communities, under-represented young people, BAME, refugees, new arrivals and other ethnic minority groups. The programme takes place over 10-12 weeks, is out of school hours (mostly Saturdays) and there is a joining fee of £25 which can be reclaimed. Exact dates and venue have yet to be confirmed.
