Katumba Schools Workshops

Bring the Carnival with Katumba! Drumming Workshops and CPD for schools

Not only are our classes energetic and fun, but also offer a multi-cultural experience full of cross-curricular learning. Languages, geography, maths and science are just some of the subjects our qualified and experienced facilitators delve into, topped off with a huge amount of exhilarating drumming!

Half/full day sessions can be tailored to complement a particular topic or message such as the rainforest or empathy. Activities range from junk percussion-making to competitive team drumming games.

No group is too big – our whole school boomwhacker orchestras get up to 400 staff and students working together to create a fantastic multi-part harmony of energy, rhythm and sound.

We also offer CPD sessions to teachers and support staff, and have helped schools set up their very own drumming groups. Our specialist SEND sensory workshops are a wonderful way for pupils of all abilities and with specific needs to explore instrumentation, rhythm and the way music can make us feel.
