Africa Oyé Learning and Participation Workshops

Start date:

Africa Oyé has two amazing musicians travelling to the UK, Valérie Ekoumé and Guy Nwogang, who will be delivering schools workshops. They will engage pupils in fun, educational activity, including:

  • learning a percussion rhythm from Cameroon
  • singing and dance
  • learning about another culture and style of music

There is a strong focus on rhythms and singing, which Valérie and Guy promote as a strong and positive message in a spirit of togetherness. We are hoping to put together small performances with the pupils at the school after the workshops. The workshops are great for communication, wellbeing, music, language and maths (they will be tailored for age and difficulties levels).
